The event was an opportunity for the members to bond out of school while still incorporating Hispanic cultures. Juniors and seniors of the honors society came together to share and try the cultural food while listening to Spanish music. A variety of desserts were provided ranging from churros to a dulce de leche cake. Almost ten appetizers were brought including tortilla chips, guacamole, and different salsas. Main dishes included chicken tacos, enchiladas, fajitas and more, with the majority being homemade. Students provided cultural dishes from Mexico, Spain, Argentina and more. Students were permitted to work with a partner or in a small group to create or buy large dishes while those providing drinks, snacks and desserts were encouraged to work individually. Each student was required to bring a Hispanic-themed dish in order to attend. The annual event took place in Cherry Hill High School East’s Cafeteria 1 with around 50 of the honors society members in attendance. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, Spanish Honors Society hosted a potluck dinner event from 6 to 9 pm. Students at the Spanish Honors Society potluck choose from a variety of cultural foods.
